Calculation methodology

TimeToolkit applies the dates, clock times, amounts and rules you enter. A calculation receipt records those assumptions; it is a calculation summary, not a payslip or legal evidence.

Clock time and weekly allocation

Work Hours subtracts unpaid breaks after rounding the start and end clock times. An earlier end is treated as next day; equal times require an explicit next-day choice for 24 hours. Time Card groups net time by your Monday, Sunday or Saturday week boundary. A crossing shift is split and its break allocated proportionally. Neither tool takes a work-location time zone: actual DST elapsed time is not computed.

Three pay models

Model E uses annual gross equivalent A, weekly hours H, working days D and annual working weeks W. Hourly = A/(H×W), working day = A/(D×W), working week = A/W, two working weeks = 2A/W, twice-monthly model = A/24, monthly = A/12, annual = A. Model P separately uses your explicitly entered integer N (1–366): equal gross payment P=A/N, or A=P×N. A blank N produces no payment estimate. Model OT uses r×regular hours + r×m1×OT1 + r×m2×OT2. Premium r×(m−1)×OT is already included in total OT pay.

Calendar dates and working days

Date differences count civil calendar days, independent of clock offsets. Inclusive counting adds one to the total; it does not change the calendar year/month/day breakdown. Addition applies years, then months, then weeks and days, clamping unavailable month days to month end. Business days apply your weekend pattern and manually entered holiday set. The start date is excluded when adding working days. Age uses completed calendar years; the next-birthday February 29 preference is separate from the age breakdown. Repeating D-Day events clamp February 29 to February 28 in non-leap years.

Time zones and meetings

The time-zone converter uses IANA-compatible Intl data from the browser/system. A missing local time is rejected, and a repeated time yields both occurrences. The exact browser tzdb build is unavailable. Meeting duration is elapsed time; candidates start every 15 minutes within participants’ weekday windows. Calendars and national holidays are not fetched.

Precision and verification

The engine calculates with JavaScript Number values; rounding for display is separate. Currency selection changes labels, not exchange rates. Decimal hours display up to four decimal places; converting back rounds to whole minutes. The worked examples below state fixed inputs and can be checked independently with arithmetic. They do not establish legal rights, tax treatment, exact payroll allocation or an external account’s configuration.

Report and correct an error

Use the contact page with the calculator, language, reproduction steps and expected versus actual result. Use fictional amounts and dates where possible. Corrections change the model explanation and relevant examples together; no response time or expert review is promised.
